Perkins Coie Ranks in Top 10 for ITC practice in 2009 by Corporate Counsel magazine
Press Release
SEATTLE (June 28, 2010) – Perkins Coie is pleased to highlight that it was recognized by Corporate Counsel magazine for being one of the top 10 law firms with the most International Trade Commission cases in 2009.
Perkins Coie is a new addition to the list of firms recognized for their ITC work, but has quickly moved ahead of many firms who have been on the list for years.
"We are pleased with the recognition Corporate Counsel has paid to our ITC work and our lawyers, but mostly we are grateful to our clients for trusting us to handle these important cases on their behalf," said Jim Coughlan, co-chair of the firm's ITC practice.
Perkins Coie's ITC practice has the experience and resources to handle Section 337 actions in a wide range of technical fields, including semiconductors, electronics, networking equipment, pharmaceuticals, bioengineering, and chemical sciences. In the last several years, the firm has gained substantial expertise in the intricacies of ITC law and procedure, adding a former ITC staff attorney and other partners who are regular players in this specialized arena. Our ITC practitioners, who include lawyers in Washington, D.C., the Midwest, the Pacific coast, as well as in Asia, regularly represent both complainants and respondents.
Corporate Counsel's methodology for compilation of the rankings was based off of three main groupings within all ITC cases: complaints, notices of appearances, and protective orders. Firms that represented third-parties were not listed.
About Perkins Coie: Founded in 1912 in Seattle, Perkins Coie has more than 850 lawyers in 19 offices across the United States and Asia. The firm is celebrating its 100th anniversary of representing great companies ranging in size from start-ups to FORTUNE 100 corporations.
