Perkins Coie Partner to Receive Prestigious Burton Award
Press Release
PHOENIX (April 30, 2008) – Perkins Coie Brown & Bain proudly announces that Phoenix-based Partner Paul Eckstein will be honored as a recipient of the prestigious Burton Award at a black-tie reception at the Library of Congress on June 16.
The Burton Awards were established nine years ago by the Burton Foundation, a not-for-profit, academic organization concentrating on legal writing. The awards honor plain, clear and effective legal writing. Only 30 law firm winners were selected from the applications submitted by the nation's 1,000 largest firms.
Eckstein is being honored for "Musings on Redistricting Litigation" which appeared in the fall 2007 edition of the ABA's Litigation magazine.
"We are so pleased to see Paul's talent for effective legal writing recognized in this way," said Robert E. Giles, Managing Partner. "Paul's writing abilities and wealth of knowledge bring value to the service he provides our clients."
This is the third time Perkins Coie has been honored with the Burton Award; partners Jerry Riedinger in the firm's Seattle office and Bob Bauer in its Washington, D.C. office have also been recipients.
