Perkins Coie Partner Mike Warnecke Quoted in Chicago Tribune

Perkins Coie Partner Mike Warnecke was recently quoted in an article published by the Chicago Tribune. The article discusses the case, Riddell, Inc. v. Schutt Sports, Inc, a patent infringement case in which Warnecke represented Riddell in its suit against Schutt Sports for infringement on its patents on concussion-reduction technology in football helmets. The case was brought to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin where Warnecke obtained a nearly $30 million verdict for Riddell. Schutt Sports is now facing bankruptcy after the case put added strain on an already struggling business. Warnecke explains that they did not anticipate the damages would cause Schutt Sports to file for bankruptcy.
