Perkins Coie Partner Fred Rivera Quoted on Marketplace Public Radio Show

Fred Rivera, Perkins Coie Partner and Co-chair of Financial Services Litigation & Investigations, was quoted on Marketplace Public Radio by David Gura on Tuesday. The story, which ran nationally on NPR stations, is titled on the Marketplace website as "SEC and Dodd-Frank face delays." It discusses the recent decision by congress to keep spending levels the same as in 2010 and the impact that decision has on the new whistleblower program the Securities Exchange Commission is required to implement under Dodd-Frank. The SEC is not getting the funding it needs to write new rules and hire new staff under the Dodd-Frank Act, delaying the process significantly. Fred Rivera was played on-air saying "I think it's probably the first announcement of delays related to Dodd-Frank that we're going to see over the coming months." The Dodd-Frank Act was very difficult to pass and is expected to be even more difficult to implement.
