Perkins Coie Names New Partners and Of Counsel in Anchorage, Boise, Denver, Hong Kong, Portland, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

SEATTLE (February 28, 2003) – Law firm Perkins Coie LLP announces the promotion of 14 new partners and 7 new Of Counsel in its Anchorage, Boise, Denver, Hong Kong, Portland, Seattle and Washington, D.C. offices. In addition, 106 new attorneys joined the firm in 2001.
Anchorage, Alaska
Eric B. Fjelstad has been promoted to partner in the Anchorage office, where he focuses on environmental and natural resources law. He received his B.A. from Marquette University and his J.D. from Northwestern School of Law, where he was associate editor of the Environmental Law Review.
Helena L. Hall has been promoted to Of Counsel in the Anchorage office, where she has a general litigation and labor and employment law practice. She is a frequent speaker on labor and employment issues. She received a B.A., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
Boise, Idaho
Robert A. Maynard has been named a partner in the Boise office, where his practice emphasizes environmental and natural resources law, real estate and land use. A frequent author and presenter on environmental issues, he has also served in the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the United States Attorney's office in Alaska. Mr. Maynard received a B.S., with distinction, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.
Denver, Colorado
Elizabeth A. Woodcock has been promoted to partner in the Denver office. Her practice comprises telecommunications, regulatory litigation, administrative law and general commercial litigation. She received her B.B.A. and J.D. from Baylor University and holds an LL.M. in energy, natural resources and environmental law from the University of Houston Law Center.
Lynne M. Hanson has been promoted to Of Counsel in the Denver office, where her practice focuses on franchise regulatory law, along with corporate law and business transactions. She received a B.A. from Carleton College and her J.D. from the University of Colorado.
Garrett M. Tuttle has been promoted to Of Counsel in Denver. He practices franchise and distribution law, corporate law, and intellectual property law with a focus on trademarks. He is a member of the International Trademark Association. He received a B.A., with distinction, from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Hong Kong, PRC
Mei Yin Lim has been promoted to Of Counsel in the Hong Kong office. Her practice emphasizes international business transactions, with particular emphasis on People's Republic of China trade issues. These include PRC investment in manufacturing, service and infrastructure projects; intellectual property right counseling, prosecution and enforcement; franchising and distribution; and corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions. She received an LL.B., with honors, from the National University of Singapore.
Portland, Oregon
Chin See Ming has been promoted to partner in the Portland office, where he has a general litigation practice. He serves on the Volunteer Lawyers Committee of the American Civil Liberties Union and on the Oregon State Board of Bar Examiners. He received a B.A. from Rice University and an M.A. from the University of Chicago. He received his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law, where he was associate editor of the Oregon Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif.
Neil Nathanson has been promoted to partner in Portland. His practice focuses on corporate finance and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, and computer and Internet law. He is active in the Software Association of Oregon and has worked with Legal Services for Children in San Francisco. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. in computer science from the University of Michigan. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was a member of Order of the Coif.

Scott M. Edwards has been promoted to partner in Seattle, where his practice emphasizes state and local taxation and tax litigation. He makes frequent presentations to various organizations on issues relating to state and local taxes and co-authored the Property Tax Chapter for the Washington Real Property Deskbook. He serves as assistant editor of the Journal of Multistate Taxation and is an adjunct professor of tax law at the University of Washington School of Law. He received an A.B., magna cum laude, from Princeton University and his J.D., with honors, from the University of Washington School of Law.
Allison Kendrick has been promoted to partner in the Seattle office, where she practices with the Product Liability Litigation Group. She received a B.A., magna cum laude, from Amherst College and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law. She served as chief manuscript editor for the Texas Law Review and was a member of Order of the Coif.
Bruce MacIntyre has been named a partner in the Commercial Transactions Group in Seattle. His practice comprises matters related to insolvency and bankruptcy, debtor/creditor issues, commercial litigation, transportation law and creditor's rights. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and serves on the Board of Directors of the Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center in Seattle. He received a B.A. from Whitworth College and an M.Ed. from the University of Washington. He graduated summa cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the Gonzaga Law Review.
Elizabeth L. McDougall has been promoted to partner in the Litigation Department in Seattle, where she has a general litigation and appellate practice in state and federal courts and before administrative bodies. Her practice emphasizes Internet litigation, complex commercial litigation and environmental litigation. She received a B.S.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Ottawa and her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was managing editor of the Environmental Law Journal.
James Sanders has been promoted to partner in the Labor and Employment Law Group, where his practice includes counseling and litigation on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including FMLA, wage and hour, disability accommodation, union organizing and labor relations, discrimination and harassment claims, executive contracts and noncompetition agreements. He was selected as one of the "Rising Stars of Washington Law" by Washington Law & Politics magazine. He was also recognized by the King County Bar Association for ongoing pro bono work with the Lutheran Compass Center. He received a B.A., with high distinction, from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.

Walther has been promoted to partner in the Seattle office, where his litigation practice includes intellectual property enforcement, antitrust (mergers and joint ventures), franchise law, estate and fiduciary law, criminal law, personal injury law, and False Claims Act and Consumer Protection Act matters. He serves as director of the Foundation for Russian American Economic Cooperation and the Pacific Northwest chapter of the French-American Chamber of Commerce. Boone has been promoted to Of Counsel in the Commercial Transactions Group, where her practice focuses on real estate acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, real estate finance and commercial finance. Marc E. Elias has been promoted to partner in the Washington, D.C. office, where he is a member of the Political Law Group, focusing on federal campaign finance law and election law. He also handles white-collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation matters. He received a B.A. from Hamilton College, an M.A. in political science from Duke University and a J.D., with honors, from Duke University School of Law.
Sloane Anders Wildman has been promoted to partner in the Washington, D.C. office's Environment Group. Her practice includes counsel and representation regarding federal and state regulatory acts, environmental auditing and voluntary disclosure, and related legislative issues. She has authored several articles on environmental issues. She received a B.A., cum laude, from Dartmouth College and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
John F. Clark has been promoted to Of Counsel in the Washington, D.C. office's Environment Group. His practice focuses on telecommunications law, with emphasis on historic preservation law, general regulatory litigation, white-collar criminal defense and land use law. Before joining the firm, he was a senior attorney with the Federal Communications Commission. He is a frequent author and speaker on telecommunications and historic preservation issues, and was named "Most Influential" person in the country in public safety communications regulatory matters by Radio Resource magazine in 1998. He received a B.A. from Yale University and his J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law. Recently he earned his M.P.A. from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Mark T. Wasden has been promoted to Of Counsel in the Washington, D.C. office, where his practice focuses on international trade, including matters involving customs, export control and antidumping. His cases have involved countries in Asia, Europe and South America. He received a B.A. in international relations from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from George Washington University.
