Perkins Coie Named for Fourth Time to FORTUNE's List of "100 Best Companies to Work For"
Press Release
SEATTLE (January 10, 2006) – For the fourth year in a row, Perkins Coie LLP has been named one of the nation's "100 Best Companies to Work For" by FORTUNE magazine. It is one of only six law firms nationwide to make the list. The firm was ranked #48 overall.
"We are extremely honored to be named to the list for the fourth year in a row," said Managing Partner Robert E. Giles. "We focus on hiring the best people to do the best work for the best clients, and I really believe that creates a fulfilling culture that makes Perkins Coie a great place to work."
The firm's focus on excellence has been validated by various other organizations. Vault, Inc. ranked Perkins Coie among the most prestigious law firms in the world in its 2006 edition of the Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms. Woodward/White, publishers of The Best Lawyers in America 2006, named 77 Perkins Coie attorneys as the best in the country in 24 different specialties. And Chambers USA, in its 2005 edition, ranked Perkins Coie as a leading law firm in 19 different areas in markets across the country, including the top ranking in eight areas.
"The 100 Best Companies to Work For" list is compiled for FORTUNE by Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz of the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco. The list is based on two criteria: an evaluation of the policies and culture of each company, and the opinions of the company's employees. The latter is given more weight; two-thirds of the total score comes from employee responses to a 57-question survey which goes to a minimum of 400 randomly selected employees from each company.
About Perkins Coie: Founded in 1912 in Seattle, Perkins Coie has more than 850 lawyers in 19 offices across the United States and Asia. The firm is celebrating its 100th anniversary of representing great companies ranging in size from start-ups to FORTUNE 100 corporations.
