Perkins Coie Named Among Top Patent Litigation Law Firms

SEATTLE (July 20, 2007) – Perkins Coie was recognized, again, by IP Law & Business as one of the nation's leading law firms for handling patent cases. Perkins Coie ranked #16 for total number of cases handled in 2006 and #11 for the number of cases in which it represented defendants in the magazine's annual survey.

IP Law & Business surveyed more than 250 law firms on the number of patent suits that they filed in federal district courts during the calendar year 2006. For this reporting year, Perkins Coie handled cases across the country, including Texas, Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Washington, Oregon, and Virginia. To be counted for the rankings, cases needed to still be active as of February 1, 2007. Cases before the International Trade Commission or appellate courts were not included in the survey.

The more than 50 attorneys in the national Patent Litigation practice have handled litigation in hundreds of technologies, including computer science, biotech, semiconductors, aerospace, telecom, mechanical and electrical engineering, consumer products and medical devices.
