Perkins Coie Litigators Earn Honorable Mention in The American Lawyer Competition

General News
01.07.2010

For the first time Perkins Coie earned an honorable mention in The American Lawyer's biannual "Litigation Department of the Year" competition. In its January issue the publication cited the firm's representation of "clients at both ends of the power spectrum. For Al Franken, Perkins Coie fended off a series of challenges to his election to the Senate. For Osama bin Laden's driver, Salim Ahmed Hamdan, the firm was pro bono defense counsel at his military trial, which ended with Hamdan being cleared of the most serious charges against him."

The American Lawyer invited all AmLaw 200 firms to report on litigation activities from January 1, 2008 - July 31, 2009. Perkins Coie submitted cases from a number of practice areas including Political Law, Patent Litigation, IP Litigation, Securities & Corporate Governance Litigation and Product Liability. Journalists placed calls to clients and opposing counsel to vet the entries.
