Perkins Coie Grows Bankruptcy Group in Chicago

CHICAGO (November 14, 2011) – Perkins Coie announced today that Deborah Gutfeld has joined the firm’s Chicago office as Of Counsel in the Bankruptcy practice. She joins the firm from Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP.

"We are excited to have someone of Deb's reputation join our bankruptcy group in Chicago," said Bankruptcy Partner David Neff. “She provides added depth and experience to our growing group.”

She will focus her practice on corporate restructuring and bankruptcies, commercial litigation and her Chapter 7 trustee practice.

She earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and her B.S. from Indiana University. She is a member of the Private Panel of Trustees for the Northern District of Illinois. She is also a former co-chair of the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Bankruptcy Committee and a frequent writer and presenter on bankruptcy issues.

She joins a Bankruptcy group of seven in Chicago and more than 20 nationwide that represent debtors and creditors in bankruptcy and restructuring matters throughout the country. The firm has one of the leading practices in representing commercial mortgage-backed securities special servicers. The firm also represents business debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, court-appointed trustees and creditors’ committees.
