Perkins Coie Boosts Portland Energy Practice with New Partners

Press Release

PORTLAND, ORE. (March 7, 2005) Perkins Coie announces two new partners to the Energy practice in the Portland office. These additions will broaden the firm's representation and experience to serve Portland energy clients.

Ivan Gold joined the firm as a partner. Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Mr. Gold was the president and founder of Cogeneration Services, Inc., a company that developed cogeneration, hydroelectric and other energy projects.

"We are excited to have Ivan join the firm. With his 30 years of experience we will be able to enhance our service to our energy clients both in Portland and nationwide," said Steve Hedberg, Portland Managing Partner.

Peter Archie, a partner in the firm for over twenty years, is relocating from the Perkins Coie Seattle office to its Portland office. Mr. Archie has extensive experience in project financing of power generating and other infrastructure facilities in the United States and abroad. He is one of the few transactional lawyers in the Western United States listed in the Euromoney Guide to the World's Leading Aviation Lawyers.

In addition, Mr. Archie's practice focuses on cross border and domestic aircraft purchase, leasing and financing transactions for a variety of clients in the United States and abroad, including aircraft and part manufacturers, air carriers, private equity funds and other aircraft investors, as well as private aircraft owners.

Perkins Coie's energy law experience is extensive. We represent an investor-owned utility in Oregon, the largest investor-owned utility in Washington State, and we have assisted some of the largest companies in the energy sector.
