Perkins Coie Adds Two Private Equity Partners in Chicago
CHICAGO (May 7, 2012) – Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Bruce Zivian and Dennis Peterson have joined the firm in Chicago as Partners in the Private Equity, Venture Capital and Emerging Company practices. They join the firm from K&L Gates LLP.

Bruce Zivian represents venture capital and private equity funds in their domestic and international investment activities. He also serves as outside general counsel to emerging growth companies across industries that include biotechnology, medical products and devices, health care services, web based services and software, as well as mergers and acquisitions for operating companies. Zivian handles a broad range of commercial and other legal matters for emerging growth business clients, including joint ventures, distribution and sales arrangements, equity based compensation plans, fundraising and debt finance, and intellectual property licensing and development. In a career spanning more than 25 years, he has counseled venture capital syndicates, private equity sponsors, corporate strategic investors and management teams in numerous multi-million dollar transactions.
Dennis Peterson focuses his practice in private equity and venture capital financing and general business matters. He advises corporate strategic, venture capital and private equity investors in their control acquisitions, debt financings and minority investments. Peterson also represents startup and emerging growth companies in general corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on mergers, acquisitions, financing transactions and divestitures.
As the Private Equity practice continues to grow, Zivian and Peterson’s additions follow behind Steve Ducommun and Michael Owen who joined the Chicago office as Partners earlier this year from K&L Gates. The Perkins Coie Private Equity group has a leading practice in the representation of private equity funds and firms.
