Perkins Coie Adds Investment Management Attorney in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 27, 2012) – Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Nick Milano has joined the firm in Washington, D.C. as Of Counsel in the Investment Management practice. He joins the firm from Legg Mason Capital Management where he served as Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

“Nick is a stellar addition to the DC office, he has a unique background with extensive experience in both in-house and government agencies,” said Bill Malley, Washington, D.C. Office Managing Partner. “His in-depth knowledge of corporate and regulatory legal matters will be an invaluable asset to the firm.”

Milano focuses his practice on investment management and financial services matters. He regularly advises registered investment advisers, registered and private investment companies, broker-dealers, commodity trading advisors and commodity pool operators in matters pertaining to regulation under federal and state securities laws.

His practice also includes providing advice regarding compliance with regulations of federal and state securities and commodities regulatory authorities and self-regulatory organizations, including the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the National Futures Association (NFA).

Milano earned his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and his B.A. from Loyola University Maryland. He is a member of the Corporation, Finance and Securities Law Section of the District of Columbia Bar Association.
