Nomkin Elected to American Academy of Appellate Lawyers

PHOENIX (September 23, 2010)-  Joel W. Nomkin, office managing partner of Perkins Coie Brown & Bain, was elected into the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers at the Academy’s recent meeting.

The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers was founded in 1990 to recognize outstanding appellate lawyers and promote the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of the appellate courts.  To be eligible for membership, a nominee’s practice must have focused substantially on appeals during at least the last 15 years.

Nomkin has had an active appellate and commercial litigation practice for over 25 years.  He served as the first chair of Perkins Coie’s national appellate practice group, and, before joining the firm, was as a member of the Appellate Staff of the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. 

Academy membership is by invitation only and is limited to 500 in the United States.
