Perkins Coie Represents Strategic Hotels & Resorts in Acquisition of Iconic Essex House Hotel

$362.3 Million Deal Marks Strategic Hotels Return to the NYC Market
CHICAGO (August 20, 2012) Perkins Coie represented Strategic Hotels & Resorts in its recent agreement to purchase New York City’s Essex House Hotel from the Dubai Investment Group for a gross purchase price of approximately $362.3 million. The transaction is expected to close on or before September 7, 2012. Strategic Hotels also signed a 50-year management agreement with Marriott International to rebrand the hotel as the JW Marriott Essex House New York. Perkins Coie also represented Strategic Hotels & Resorts in its negotiations with Marriott International Inc.
