Perkins Coie’s Chicago Office Continues on Growth Trajectory

Addition of Randy Bridgeman Brings Chicago Office New Partner Total to 11 Since January 2012.

CHICAGO (August 15, 2012) – Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Randy A. Bridgeman has joined the firm’s Chicago office as a Partner in the firm's Corporate Governance & Transactions Practice.  He was most recently a Partner at K&L Gates LLP, where he was head of the Corporate group for the Chicago office.  Bridgeman was also a partner at Chicago-based Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLP, prior to its merger with K&L Gates in 2009.  Bridgeman is the 11th partner to join Perkins Coie’s Chicago office this year.

Bridgeman’s arrival follows closely on a number of other recent corporate partner additions to the firm’s Chicago office, including, most recently, Bruce Zivian (private equity and venture capital), Marcelo Halpern (privacy and technology transactions), Dan Coyne and Jim Carroll (health care finance), Dennis Peterson (private equity), Michael Owen (finance) and Steve Ducommun (corporate transactions).

Bridgeman serves as the principal legal advisor to businesses across a wide range of industries, coordinating all the client’s legal matters, including strategic transactions, corporate governance, commercial contracts, litigation, finance, employee benefits, intellectual property, government regulation, estate planning and real estate.  Bridgeman represents both public and private companies, as well as emerging growth companies and venture and private equity investors in various transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, distribution and supply arrangements and other strategic transactions.  Among his areas of specialty are counseling family businesses in succession planning as well as representing business owners in the full scope of the sales process, from pre-sale preparation, tax planning, and diligence through bid solicitation and document preparation and negotiation.

Bridgeman earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.  He is a member of various bar and professional associations and is currently the co-chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Mergers and Acquisitions Subcommittee.
