Nancy Gallup Joins Perkins Coie's Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice

SEATTLE (April 21, 2008) – Perkins Coie announced that Nancy Gallup has joined the firm as of counsel in its Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation practice. She will be based in the firm's Seattle office.

Prior to joining the firm, Gallup was with Dorsey & Whitney, where she headed the firm's Seattle Benefits and Compensation practice. In that role, she coordinated benefits work with regional offices including, Southern California, New York, Anchorage and Salt Lake City. Before that, Gallup was a partner with Bogle & Gates, and prior to that she was an associate and then a partner at Jones Day, in the Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and New York offices.

Gallup will focus her practice on qualified and executive non-qualified retirement plans, welfare plans and fiduciary issues. She also counsels clients on structuring, negotiating and implementing benefits arrangements appropriate for various business transactions. She is a frequent speaker on benefits topics, including benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions, executive deferred compensation and Section 409A, fiduciary considerations in sponsoring and administering ERISA-covered employee benefit plans, corrections under evolving IRS voluntary correction programs, and various welfare benefit topics, including HIPAA and documentation and compliance issues.

Gallup joins a team of 13 attorneys in offices across the country who partner with clients to find creative and cost-effective solutions to their employee benefits needs.

She earned her law degree from The George Washington University Law School, where she graduated with honors, and her undergraduate degree in Arabic from Georgetown University.
