Firmwide Co-Chair, Life Sciences Industry Group; Regional Managing Partner for China
Michael Wise is Regional Managing Partner for China and the firmwide co-chair of the Life Sciences Industry. He is well-versed in litigating intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets in federal and state court, and also complex patent interferences before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. He has litigated a wide variety of technologies including biologic and small molecule therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, software and electronics. Michael also advises academic institutions, research institutions, emerging companies, private held companies, and publicly traded companies with respect to protecting and enforcing their intellectual property rights. For the last 15 years Michael has been an active member of the Southern California Biomedical Council (SoCalBio), serving as the chair of the annual SoCalBio Investor Conference, and is the secretary of the Board of Directors. Michael also leads the firm's expansion into the China market with the Shanghai and Beijing offices. He represents both U.S. and Chinese clients in patent litigation, patent due diligence and patent portfolio management.
