Federal tax aspects of equity-based compensation arrangements including stock options, stock appreciation rights, restricted stock awards, and restricted stock units
Federal tax aspects of nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements, bonus plans, severance agreements and other compensation arrangements subject to Code section 409A and of golden parachute payments subject to Code section 280G
ERISA, COBRA, the Affordable Care Act and other federal and state mandates applicable to health and welfare benefit plans, cafeteria plans and non-taxable fringe benefit plans
HIPAA and HITECH Act compliance
Compliance requirements applicable to qualified retirement plans

Margret’s experience includes:

Counseling public and private companies in mergers, acquisitions, financings and other major business transactions
Advising clients in all aspects of plan design and compliance
Assisting clients in correcting employee benefit plan failures under the IRS’s Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System, the Department of Labor’s Delinquent Filer Voluntary Compliance Program and the Department of Labor’s Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program
