Michael Song is a counsel in the firm's Patent Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation practices. He handles a broad spectrum of patent, including utility and design patents, trademark and trade secret issues. Michael has represented clients in patent disputes involving technologies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, electronics, computer software, and semiconductor industries. Michael was an integral part of a trial team that successfully represented its client in a design patent case involving the design of a light emitting diode (LED) that was tried before a jury in the Northern District of California. He has experience in all phases of litigation, from investigating potential claims through appeal. Michael has prepared and argued discovery motions, prepared motions for summary judgment, taken and defended depositions, conducted expert discovery, prepared claim construction briefs, prepared and argued pre-trial motions, examined witnesses at trial, prepared and argued motions at trial, prepared post-trial motions, and prepared appeal briefs.
