Leading Bankruptcy Lawyer Dan Zazove Joins Perkins Coie's Insolvency Practice

Press Release

CHICAGO (April 28, 2005) – Perkins Coie announced today that Dan Zazove has joined its bankruptcy practice as a partner. Zazove, who has 30 years of experience working on complex bankruptcy reorganizations and insolvency matters, will practice in Perkins Coie's Chicago office.

Zazove started his career as a staff attorney in the Corporate Reorganization Branch of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He founded a leading bankruptcy boutique law firm in Chicago and most recently practiced at Kaye Scholer, LLC. Zazove brings a broad perspective on insolvency matters to Perkins Coie, having worked with more than 100 reorganizing debtors, and dozens of creditor committees, banks and financial institutions.

"Dan is a leader in his field, and we are thrilled to have him join the firm," said Chris Wilson, managing partner of Perkins Coie's Chicago office. "Dan's expertise and collaborative style is an asset to our team and he will undoubtedly be well received and valued by our clients."

Zazove joins a group of attorneys focusing on bankruptcy matters in several Perkins Coie offices across the country. The group represents debtors and creditors, as well as third parties purchasing assets from bankruptcy estates. The group's primary clients in Chapter 11 reorganization cases are business debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, court-appointed trustees and creditors' committees.

Ranked among the top bankruptcy lawyers in Illinois by Chambers USA, Zazove edited the Bankruptcy Practice Handbook for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education and has written extensively on bankruptcy topics. He serves as program director, lecturer, and author for the IICLE and is a member of the Business Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association. Zazove received his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in Urbana.
