Kathleen (Kathie) M. Howard

Kathie Howard, of counsel in the firm's Chicago office, focuses her practice in the areas of health care and real estate.  She provides general legal representation of hospitals and health care providers, advising clients on administrative, clinical, business, real estate, and regulatory and compliance matters, including those related to health information privacy and security and health care fraud and abuse. Kathie also advises clients with regard to transactional arrangements between hospitals and physicians. She provides outside General Counsel services to hospitals, healthcare providers and companies desiring to outsource or supplement their legal support functions.

Kathie's practice background is transaction and counseling based. She has more than 20 years experience advising clients on all phases of commercial, retail and office leasing, and real estate transactions. Kathie has successfully facilitated real estate, business and securities transactions for clients in both the public and private sectors.  Her background also includes representation of clients in a variety of general litigation matters.  Kathie's diverse experience gives her a unique perspective in providing an array of counseling services to assist clients with effectively managing their legal affairs.
