Karen McGaffey Quoted on the New Focus on Renewable Energy Projects Due to Stimulus Deadlines

Two American Recovery and Reinvestment Act programs that would pour billions of dollars into renewable energy development include time requirements for construction commencement. And, as the deadlines creep closer, developers, utilities and government agencies have a many of legal and regulatory issues they must address. Perkins Coie Energy Partner Karen McGaffey was quoted on the issue in a recent Industrial Wind Action Group article. Lawyers with other specialties, such as patent law, may increasingly find themselves working on renewable energy projects, said McGaffey, "Ten years ago it's the kind of thing they might be doing for dot-coms."
