Karen Andersen Joins Perkins Coie as Chief Lateral Recruitment Officer

Perkins Coie announced today that Karen Andersen has joined the firm as its first Chief Lateral Recruitment Officer. Andersen will be based in the firm's Seattle office.
Andersen will be responsible for leading the firm's national lateral partner recruiting efforts.

Prior to joining the firm, Andersen served as an equity partner at Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world's largest legal search firm. With 21 offices worldwide, MLA has successfully conducted legal searches for clients including AmLaw 100 law firms and Fortune 1000 corporations. Andersen joined the international recruiting firm five years ago and was the managing partner of the Seattle office. Andersen has more than 15 years of experience in corporate, private equity, and general securities legal work. Before joining MLA, Andersen was managing director and general counsel of Incepta Ventures, a telecom venture capital fund. She helped found a law firm, the Summit Law Group, and she practiced general corporate and securities law as a partner at Davis, Wright Tremaine in Seattle. Andersen began her law career in 1987 with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in San Francisco.
Andersen holds a B.A. in Political Science from University of Pacific and a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Washington. She is a member of the California and Washington Bars.
