Joel Levin Quoted on Blagojevich Confidant Indictment
General News
02.05.2009
Rod Blagojevich’s close confidant Christopher Kelly was issued another federal indictment for money laundering and fraud charges as a result of an alleged bid-rigging scheme to overcharge American Airlines and United Airlines for roofing work at O’Hare International Airport. Despite the mounting charges, Kelly is refusing to cooperate with the investigation of Blagojevich. “It just stands to reason that the higher penalties you’re facing, it just increases the incentive [to cooperate]. Obviously, there are some people who dig their heels in,” said former prosecutor and current Perkins Coie Investigations & White Collar Defense lawyer Joel Levin in the recent Daily Herald article “Blago confidant gets another federal indictment.”
