Interactive Entertainment Resources

Perkins Coie's Interactive Entertainment group strives to collect valuable industry and legal resources and make them available to you.

Interactive Entertainment Industry Roundtables

We host regular roundtable legal discussions on various topics for In-house counsel, game developers, game publishers, and anyone else with an interest in video games. Below are the presentations from our recent seminars.

Lawyers in our group also present at outside conferences and webinars. The following is a presentation Dax Hansen, Kirk Soderquist and Ron Koo gave at a webinar hosted by our client Live Gamer on the legal issues impacting electronic stored value systems and related IP-ownership matters. Recommended Interactive Entertainment Conferences

These events are constantly changing, but we recommend checking out these conferences.

Blog Recommendations

Two of our favorite web sites for the legal issues, business issues, virtual worlds and general industry information regarding the video game industry are listed below.

  • Game Politics: http://www.gamepolitics.com/. Focusing on the intersection of games and politics, this site includes some very cool features such as a legislation tracker Google map and well-indexed links to other gaming sites.
  • Virtual Law Article Index: http://madisonian.net/2008/03/18/virtual-law-articles/. You can pass over Lexis and Westlaw; a Rutgers law professor collected this list of published law review articles relating to virtual law.
If you have a favorite site that we've missed, or there are other resources that you'd like us to make available, please email us.
