Emily Craven graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as co-managing editor of the Georgetown Entertainment and Media Alliance Law Review.
As a summer associate at Perkins Coie, she researched caselaw and drafted memoranda on commercial litigation issues including white-collar defense and internal investigations, data privacy, fraud, tortious interference and breach of contract. She gained additional experience examining state and federal securities law regarding cumulative voting, tender offer and stock buyback provisions.
Emily served as a judicial extern for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where she researched caselaw and prepared draft rulings on matters involving labor and employment law, intellectual property and administrative law. During her time there, she also drafted memoranda on the Prisoner’s Litigation Reform Act and its impact on claims for released prisoners. She was also a legal extern at the Department of Justice in The United States Attorney’s Office, Cyber Crimes Section.
As an undergrad, Emily interned for Wisconsin State Senator Tom Tiffany and Congressman Mike Quigley from Illinois.
