| Associate
Eric Barber is an associate in the firm's Litigation practice and focuses on insurance coverage. His insurance coverage practice includes representing policyholders in disputes with their insurance carriers under a number of different types of insurance policies (directors’ and officers’; errors and omissions; commercial general liability; blanket bonds; builders’ risk; and data breach). A majority of his representations are of large financial service companies, including mutual funds and hedge funds. Eric has also advised policyholders on a wide range of insurance issues stemming from securities and derivative litigation. Other matters include seeking insurance coverage for liabilities related to the Bernard Madoff Ponzi scheme; loss of employee life overseas; construction mishaps and defects; damage from Hurricanes Ike, Omar, and Rita; and environmental contamination.
Eric is co-chair of the Excess and Umbrella sub-committee of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association.
Eric also has extensive appellate experience. He has worked on appeals across a broad spectrum of substantive areas of law and in various appellate courts around the country, including a number in the U.S. Supreme Court and the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
