David Clarke, a Partner in the firm's national Business practice group, focuses on the representation of startups and emerging growth companies, public companies, middle market private businesses, venture funds and private equity funds. David's practice emphasizes corporate formations, venture capital and growth equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations, public offerings and corporate governance. David works with startups at all stages of development, from formation through liquidity and beyond, and serves as a key advisor on fundraising and strategic transactions. David also works with mature privately held companies and business owners in sale and recapitalization transactions, and he represents public companies in M&A and governance matters. In addition to his corporate clients, David represents leading venture and private equity funds in portfolio company investments. David is a regular speaker on venture financing, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity topics.
