Firmwide Co-Chair, Appellate Practice
Dan Bagatell is Co-Chair of the firm's Appellate Practice Group. He spends most of his time on post-trial and appellate matters, focusing on patent cases and other disputes involving complex technology or complicated statutes. He regularly briefs and argues cases in the appellate courts, particularly the Ninth and Federal Circuits. He also writes and edits critical trial court papers such as Markman briefs, summary judgment motions, oppositions to class certification, and JMOL and new trial motions. In addition, clients often enlist Dan to work on special projects such as amicus briefs, case analyses, and white papers. Dan works closely with lawyers in offices and practice groups throughout Perkins Coie and enjoys teaming with lawyers at other firms as well.
