Christopher (Chris) Garrett

Senior Counsel

Chris Garrett practices in the area of business litigation, representing clients in trials and appeals in both state and federal court. He has substantial experience in antitrust, intellectual property, and employment law. Chris also was retained to represent Oregon legislative leaders in constitutional litigation related to education funding. In addition, Chris has extensive political law experience, frequently advising elected officials, candidates, and organizations on issues of constitutional and election law. In 2008, Chris was elected to the Oregon House of Representatives from District 38, encompassing parts of Portland and Lake Oswego. He currently serves as co-chair of the House Committee on Business and Labor. In 2010, he was appointed to the Oregon Law Commission, which conducts a continuous program of substantive law reform. In 2011, Chris was appointed by Governor John Kitzhaber to the Governor's Commission on Public Safety, which will undertake a systematic review of Oregon's criminal sentencing policies and propose reforms to the Legislature.
