Amelia Gerlicher is an associate in the firm's Litigation practice and a member of the firm's Privacy and Security group. Her litigation practice includes commercial, constitutional, privacy, and intellectual property trial and appellate matters. In addition to her litigation work, Amelia counsels clients in areas related to privacy and data security, consumer protection law, and internet law.
Amelia’s litigation practice focuses on privacy-related litigation, including actions under the federal Wiretap Act, the Stored Communications Act, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and state common law and statutory privacy claims. Her litigation practice also includes a variety of other matters, including contract, intellectual property, and internet law issues for a wide range of clients. In pro bono matters, she has represented immigrants seeking asylum before the immigration court and the Ninth Circuit.
Amelia also assists clients in addressing issues implicating a number of federal and state privacy laws. She advises clients on the protection and use of personal data, including disclosure obligations, security requirements, and data breach notification and response. She also advises clients on the privacy tort and right of publicity implications of online behavior.
