Clemency Op-Ed Published in Chicago Sun-Times

Partner Patrick Collins and Associates Jade Lambert and Brandy McMillion co-wrote an op-ed which ran in the September 25th issue of the Chicago Sun-Times. The article "Quinn must act on clemency petitions," addresses the one-year anniversary of Illinois Governor Pat Quinn's 2010 promise to decide all 3,000 pending clemency petitions by year's end. Collins, Lambert and McMillion, who served as pro bono counsel for a number of clemency petitioners, emphasized that Quinn's promise remains unfulfilled, leaving the lives of numerous petitioners in limbo. The authors called on Quinn to accelerate the petition process because he owes it to thousands of petitioners waiting for answers "to make good on his promise and to decide their clemency petitions, one way or another, in a timely manner."
