SEATTLE, Wash. (January 27, 2014) - Perkins Coie represented client Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq “MSFT”), in its acquisition of the “Gears of War” game franchise, a military science fiction video game, from Epic Games, Inc., a developer of games and cross-platform game engine technology.

Led by Seattle partner Kirk A. Soderquist and Los Angeles partner Don Karl, Co-Chairs of Perkins Coie’s Interactive Entertainment practice, the Perkins Coie team also included Seattle partners Carl Crow, Robert Mahon and Grace Stanton; Los Angeles counsel Ron Koo; Chicago associate Lauren Matecki; and Seattle associates Sarah Herman, Christine Kim and Jikizizwe (Jika) Gqiba-Knight.
